Solomon, Imaginary Girl
Lyrics
While
on my return flight from Sedona, AZ I was wondering what had
happened to the woman I was in my early twenties? The first
line of the song was stuck in my head “I am fighting
to break this shell I’m trapped inside” I realized
that I needed to write this song for any woman who has lost
a part of herself and her soul to an abusive relationship.

I am fighting to break this shell I’m trapped
inside when did these walls go up, to keep
me hostage in my mind, recession of my
emotion, well it shakes me to the core
I’m still going through the motions in my life
Chorus:
Silent desperation, oh you’re screaming in
your mind, silent desperation, oh, you’re
withering inside, how can you stop, the slow
erosion of your pride, love shouldn’t hurt
your pride
Another woman drowns on this quiet sea of
contentment, her smile shines so brightly, as
she turns her face to cry, unaware her
sacrifice would be giving up on who she
was, for who she’s told to be.
Chorus/ Repeat
