A
Personal Message from Liz: In my early twenties,
after being mentally abused and physically threatened, I found
myself stripped of any shred of self-esteem, dignity, and
strength I had possessed. I was about fifty pounds overweight;
I had lost touch with the majority of my friends, and felt
a vast emptiness that reached in to the depths of my soul.
I thought I would never recover the woman I had been before
I allowed a man to rape me of my very essence.
It had always been my understanding that domestic abuse was
a physical thing. Getting beaten up and having bruises were
proof something was truly wrong. Domestic Mental Abuse is
an affliction that starts so subtly you may not even see it
coming. I know I didn't.
Like many women, I found the strength to persevere because
of the love and support of my family and friends. Many of
the songs on this album were written on my journey towards
personal healing. It is my hope that when you listen and share
these songs they offer you the same healing and comfort they
have given me.
All the best,
Liz |
